Moana and Maui, Empowering Messages of Faith and Courage

Moana and Maui
Birth Date: 'Okakopa 28, 2018 (10-28-18)

Moana and Maui convey empowering messages of faith and courage.

Moana is named after her best friend and greatest teacher, the ocean. Vibrant and adventurous, she reflects faith, determination and courage.
As an expert seaman and navigator, Maui's strength is reflected in his shell necklace. With his magical fishhook Maui discovered fire, lassoed the sun, lifted the sky and hauled the Islands up from the sea.

In this story mischievous Maui and spirited Moana are true friends from the heart. Happily sailing their canoe through the beautiful bays of Punaluu Black Sand Beach, they combine their Manas (spiritual energies). The spiral shape on the canoe sail and Moana’s paddle symbolizes a new unfurling silver fern frond, which enhances new life, growth, strength and peace.

Moana and Maui are invincible and ready for adventure
to preserve the higher good of all.

Moana wears a skirt decorated with Plumeria flowers and a belt matching her red, yellow and brown top and pants. Moana's neck is adorned with a magical seashell necklace.

Maui wears a leaf skirt and a shell necklace. His upper arms and ankles are tattooed.

Moana and Maui are about 4” tall, fitting in the palm of your hand. The eyes and mouth are intricately embroidered onto the face. Moana and Maui have tiny little hands and feet, ears, buttocks, and a belly button. The dolls are attached to the canoe.
All accessories were individually handcrafted.

Mana and the Magic Shell

Mana and the Magic Shell
Birth Date: ʻOkakopa 28, 2018 (10-28-18)

Mana's spiritual energy empowers, enchants, flows and radiates.

Ma’ema’e ke ‘ala e holo ala
E ala mai, E naue mai, E noke mai e

Clear the path to move on
Awake, Move, Persevere

Herb Kawainui Kane’s painting ‘Legend of the Magic Shell’ inspired the creation of Mana and the Magic Shell.

Chanting to the sacred song of the sea shell she stands in, secrets of the ocean are revealed to Mana. Her dreams and wishes manifest. The magic of the shell carries her to secret places of the heart.

Mana's chants touch the heart and reach deeply into the ancestor’s world. Mana is honoring the Akuas (spirits) of the ‘Aina (land).
Aglow with focused energy, strength and agility, Mana merges with the spirits of nature.

Mana means spiritual energy in the Hawaiian language. Mana is the soul of Hawaii.

In the Aloha (compassion) spirit, the Lōkahi (unity) spirit, and the Pono (righteousness) spirit, Mana's chants honor the Akuas, tell stories about Aumakuas (ancestral guardians), respect for all things and the sacredness of life.

Mana’s magic sea shell chants inspire us to awake, move forward and persevere,
to embrace our spiritual energy with intention, determination and courage.

Mana’s Tutu (grandmother) wove her Mana  (spiritual energy) and Aloha (love) into the white Hulu (feather) lei for her beloved Mo'opuna (Granddaughter). The Hulu is believed to link to the divine.
Tutu sewed Mana's white and green top and matching wraparound skirt. She crocheted white lace panties and little shoes for Mana.

Mana is about 4” tall, fitting in the palm of your hand. The body is made out of stretch cotton and wired for flexibility. The eyes and mouth are intricately embroidered onto the face. Mana has tiny little hands and feet, ears, buttocks, and a belly button. She is attached to the conch shell. All accessories were individually handcrafted.

Doll care: Gently brush the dolls and their clothing with a soft dry toothbrush to remove dust. Always brush the faces and bodies upwards towards the hair.

Magical Hawaiian Ocean

In Hawaiian mythology Kanaloa is the god of the ocean and the ocean winds. He is one of the four major gods of Hawaii: Kane, Kanaloa, Ku and Lono. Kanaloa was strongly connected with Kane, the creator of all life. When the people in old Hawaiians built a canoe, they would invoke Kane's blessing for the building and Kanaloa's for its sailing.
On their journeys together Kanaloa and Kane would share the sacred drink of 'Awa (drink of the gods). Striking the ground with their staffs they caused hidden springs of fresh water to burst forth.
Ki'is (statues) show Kanaloa wearing a headdress that touches the ground connecting the conscious and unconscious mind, integrating the upper and lower selves.
Statues of Kanaloa feature him with round eyes, unlike those of any other representations of the gods. According to a Kauai tradition, if you could look into the eye of Kanaloa you would see the symbol of Pono (goodness) and be healed. Kanaloa is a healer god. One of his Kinolaus (forms) is the He'e (octopus), which was believed to make sickness flee.
Ka-na-loa means 'grounded'. Kanaloa reminds us that a solid foundation brings security, strength and healing.

The great Hawaiian healing Ocean God inspired the creation of the Hawaiian Ocean Scene.

Kanaloa offers a solid foundation of security, strength and health.

Kanaloa (Secure) feels at home in the ocean and at the beach. He is named after the great Hawaiian Healer God of the Ocean. Kanaloa is filled with Pono (goodness) and possesses the Mana (spiritual energy) of healing. He'e, the octopus is always close by. He’e is Kanaloa’s Aumakua (guardian spirit), whose messages come to him in visions and dreams. Kanaloa always follows He'e’s guidance and advise. He knows that it will lead him and his Ohana (family) to health and happiness. Kanaloa's sea star staff is the shining heart of truth and love.

Hoku Kai whispers sweet secrets beckoning you to connect with her magical healing Mana. Learn how to heal the past, love yourself more deeply,
embrace creativity and find your life's purpose.

Hoku Kai is named after the sea star which bestows sanctuary, salvation, renewal and strength.
Loving, adventurous, kind and daring, Hoku Kai is the most adorable little mermaid. All day long she glides through the coral reefs in the bays of beautiful Punalu’u Black Sands Beach looking for treasures and her friends Kanaloa and He’e.
Today she found a precious conch shell and this is her gift to them.

Kanaloa’s wears a brown lava lava (wraparound) with a turquoise He'e. His shell and crystal amulet invoke blessings and protection.
Hoku Kai wears a white seashell top and a sea weed lei around her waist. A sea star adorns her forehead.

Kanaloa and Hoku Kai are about 4” tall, fitting in the palm of your hand. The bodies are made out of stretch cotton and wired for flexibility. The eyes and mouth are intricately embroidered onto the faces. Kanaloa has tiny little hands and feet, ears, buttocks, and a belly button. Hoku Kai has a fish tail.
