Kokua, the Mana of Kindness

In the Hawaiian language Kokua means help. It is another word with a deep and rich history like Aloha, which isn't simply a greeting but also a philosophy about treating others with love and compassion. Mahalo, meaning thank you, encompasses the spirit of gratitude.
As a foundation of and a way of life in Hawaii, Kokua is the Mana of kindness with a desire to help one another in a loving and sacrificial way without expecting anything in return.

In Hawaii this important concept is taught to children from a young age by the Kupuna, who are the older people honored with Aloha as grandparents and ancestors by all. Kupunas are the source of experience, knowledge, guidance, strength and inspiration to the next generations.

They are a blessing being the ones we came from, who have lived before us
and who we live for today.

The selfless spirit of Kokua contributes greatly to the harmony in Hawaiian communities and relationships.

Living together with Kokua, the people stand strong.
There are no limits to the timeless Mana of Kokua!

Ha'ina's Dance of Inspirations

Ha’ina (Offering), the Pa’u Hula Dancer

Birth Date: Kekemapa 14, 2020 (12/14/20)

Ma’ema’e ke ‘ala e holo ala

E ala mai, E naue mai, E noke mai e

Clear the path to move on

Awake, Move, Persevere

Ha’ina’s dance inspires us to awake, move forward and persevere,
to live in faith with intention, determination and courage.

With strength and agility Ha’ina gracefully performs the ancient Hula. Down on her knees she offers her Makana (gift) of 2 Lehos (cowrie shells) to the Akuas (spirits).
Leho shells invoke the protection of the spirits in connection with the strength and the power of the ocean.

In the Aloha (compassion) spirit, the Lōkahi (unity) spirit, and the Pono (righteousness) spirit, Ha’ina honors the Akuas, the sacredness of life
and Kuleana for all things with her dance.

Ha’ina’s Tutu (grandmother) sewed the traditional pink Pa’u hula skirt and matching top with a Hibiscus flower design.
Tutu wove her Mana (spiritual energy) and Aloha (love) into Ha’ina’s pink feather Haku (head lei), wrist and ankle leis.
In Hawaii the Hulu (feather) represents spiritual strength, unity and love. It is believed to link to the divine.
All these precious things were Tutu’s gifts of Aloha (Love) to her beloved Mo’opuna Wahine (granddaughter).

Ha’ina is a 10” tall cloth doll who was individually handcrafted on the Big Island of Hawaii with the greatest love and respect for all that is Hawaii. Her body is made out of doll skin and stuffed with high quality poly fill. The body is wired for flexibility. The eyes and mouth are intricately embroidered onto the face. All accessories were individually hand crafted.

Ha’ina is not a dress up doll. All clothing and accessories are sewn and/or glued onto her. Except for her skirt which can be removed.

Doll care: Gently brush the dolls and their clothing with a soft toothbrush to remove dust. Always brush the faces and bodies upwards towards the hair. Do not brush the hair!

Ha’ina is a one of a kind Hawaiian Art Doll and comes with a booklet and certificate of authenticity. She is a collector’s item bringing you the spiritual power of Hawaii.

Every bit of Ha’ina has been lovingly handcrafted to create a new friend who will last a lifetime.
