Birth date: Kepakemapa 8, 2018 (09-08-19)

Ko Olina, Nene and Honu remind us
that there is always more than enough time to fulfill all desires.

Ko Olina, Nene (Goose) and Honu (Turtle) have all the time in the world!
Together they meander through the beautiful forest in the Ka'u Mountains cherishing all they see, hear, and feel. Baby Nene quacks and waddles along happily. Little Honu is resting contently on Ko Olina's arm.
Wonderful and exciting things keep happening! Everywhere they go they are greeted with kindness and abundance: the sun warms their bodies, the birds sing their most beautiful songs, flowers open to embrace them with their sweet scent.
When they are hungry food appears on their path, a crunchy green leaf for Honu, a big yellow Mai’a (banana) to share for Ko Olina and Nene. The small mountain stream offers cool, fresh to quench their thirst.

Ko Olina, Nene and Honu honor
the Akuas (spirits) of the enchanting forest.

Tutu wove her Mana (spiritual energy) and Aloha (love) into Ko Olina's red flower and green feather Haku (head lei), wrist and ankle leis. In Hawaii the Hulu (feather) represents spiritual strength, unity and love. It is believed to link to the divine.
Tutu crocheted little yellow shoes for Ko Olina. Last she stuck beautiful yellow Plumeria flowers behind Ko Olina's, Nene’s and Honu's ears.

Poli'ahu, Snow Goddess of Mauna Kea

Mauna Kea is considered the most sacred mountain of Native Hawaiian religion and culture.
Over the last few weeks there have been ongoing protests over building the thirty-meter Telescope on this revered site, which, as the Hawaiian people believe, should be recognized and protected.
The sacredness of majestic Mauna Kea, whose summit is the highest point in the State of Hawaii, inspired the creation of Poli’ahu, Snow Goddess of Mauna Kea.

In Hawaiian mythology Poli’ahu is the Snow Goddess of Mauna Kea, the greatest volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii. In the Hawaiian language Poli’ahu means “caress”.
The Snow Goddess Poli’ahu gently caresses the summit of Mauna Kea with her pure white cloak in the winter and beautifies the mountain with her pink and gold cloak in the summer.

 Mauna Kea

Translated from the Hawaiian language Mauna Kea means “the White Mountain”. The mountains of the island were always sacred to the Hawaiians, and Mauna Kea is the most sacred of all. In ancient times the law allowed only high-ranking tribal chiefs to visit its peak.
The fascinating summit of the dormant volcano is at 13,803 feet the highest point in the State of Hawaii. Measured from its base on the ocean floor, it rises over 33,000 feet, making it the tallest mountain on earth. Mauna Kea last erupted about 4000 years ago.
This majestic mountain is only about one million years old. In the past glaciers covered the summit of Mauna Kea. Glacial features and a few rock glaciers have remained on the summit until today.
Mauna Kea’s high altitude, dry environment, and stable airflow make it one of the best sites in the world for astronomical observation. The world’s largest collection of international astronomical observatories is located on the summit of Mauna Kea
Mauna Kea also is home to many endangered plants and animals, including the Wekiu bug, the Palila (a rare bird), and the Mauna Kea Silversword.

Lake Waiau
Lake Waiau, located on the summit platform of Mauna Kea, is one of the highest elevated lakes on the planet. Lake Waiau is a sacred site. Ancient Hawaiians believed that the Lake was a bottomless portal to the spirit world. Its water was considered pure water of the gods. According to Hawaiian beliefs, water captured in the piko (the center) is considered pure and sacred. The water of Lake Waiau is worshipped as the most sacred. In ancient time, a chief would throw the umbilical cord of their first son into the lake to reserve the place for the child's afterlife as a chief.
People believe in the immense powers of Lake Waiau up to this day and visit it to perform rituals or collect the water for good health.
In Hawaiian mythology Pele, the Hawaiian Fire Goddess and Poli’ahu, the Snow Goddess were said to have been fierce rivals. One well known Hawaiian legend tells the story of Poli’ahu winning a race against the Volcano goddess Pele at the Hawaiian sledding sport called “he’eholua”. Pele was so angry at being defeated that she threw streams of glowing lava at Poli’ahu who calmly brought down storms of snow and froze the molten rock into place. Pele surrendered and never again stepped onto Poli’ahu’s territory on Mauna Kea. The power of fire was pacified by Poli’ahu’s calmness.
The legend of the Hawaiian Snow Goddess inspired the creation of the miniature Hawaiian Art Doll Poli'ahu.

Poli’ahu, Hawaiian Snow Goddess of Mauna Kea
Birthdate: ʻAukake 4, 2019 (08/04/19)

Connect with Poli’ahu’s Mana and learn how to be victorious over life’s challenges
by caressing them with tenderness and stillness.

Swinging her magical Snowflake Ko'o (wand), Poli'ahu happily skips over the hardened lava on the majestic Mauna Kea Volcano. She is enchanted by the beauty of the mountain and eager to share the blessing of her powerful Mana (spiritual energy) with her Ohana (family) and friends.
Poli’ahu is named after the Hawaiian Snow Goddess who resides on the summit of Mauna Kea (White Mountain), the greatest volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Poli’ahu’s name means caress.
Her serene, gentle Mana is like the caress of a soft, pure, white snow blanket.

Pueo, the Hawaiian Owl, is Poli’ahu’s Aumakua (ancestral spirit) and her loyal companion. Pueo often reveals her miraculous powers and loving concerns to Poli'ahu. She appears whenever Poli'ahu calls on her, but Pueo also comes on her own at important times of change, when she knows that her advice is needed. Poli'ahu greets her with love and respect. Pueo gently chirps sweet songs and secret messages in Poli’ahu’s ear, guiding her even deeper into her place of inner stillness.

Like the Hawaiian Snow Goddess, Poli’ahu is dressed in a white dress symbolizing a mantle of snow on the mountain. Her hair is adorned with a crystal tiara much like the icicles on the summit of Mauna Kea.
Poli'ahu wears white crocheted panties and matching shoes adorned with crystals. Crystals inspire spiritual strength, unity and love. She also wears a Kupukupu (tree fern) and crystal flower in her hair. Hawaiian tree ferns represent spiritual strength, unity and love.

Poli'ahu is about 4” tall, fitting in the palm of your hand. The body is made out of doll skin and wired for flexibility. The eyes and mouth are intricately embroidered onto the face.

Poli'ahu has long black hair, tiny little hands and feet, ears, buttocks, and a belly button.
Pueo is about ¾” tall. She is partly crocheted and made out of faux fur and real feathers
All accessories were individually handcrafted.
Doll care: Gently brush the dolls and their clothing with a soft toothbrush to remove dust. Always brush the faces and bodies upwards towards the hair.

Poli’ahu is a one of a kind display doll handcrafted by Hawaiian Dolls. She comes with her story and a certificate of authenticity.
Poli’ahu is ready to be your new friend and caress her way into your heart.
Poli'ahu and Pueo reflect the majestic Mana of Mauna Kea.

Moana's Ohana Connected by Mana!

On the spur of the moment I started to create a picture story of my current doll project. This is something I have never done before. It tells about and shows some of the intricate stages of crafting my art dolls.

My favorite work space is my porch because of the great natural light, which is my preference to any artificial light, and the inspiration of the forest, surrounding mountains, the song of the birds, the Mana of Wood Valley.

I am in the process of creating 6 dolls at the same time, which is another thing I have never done before. Usually I concentrate on 1 or 2 dolls at a time.
But these 6 have to be created together because they are part of each other and belong together, just like a family: 4" and 10" Moana, 4" and 10" Tala and, of course, 4" and 10" Maui.

This picture shows them standing on the table. The bodies, heads and the outline of the eyes are finished.
Small and big Maui are as fat as I could make them. Small and big Tala are a little bit heavy set. Small and big Moana are fairly slim girls.
I know who is who just by looking at their bodies and heads. The next steps are the faces, eyebrows and hair.

I will start with big and small Maui.

The faces are done, now the eyebrows and hair.

And here they are: big and small Maui! They look naughty. Pele is watching the progress.
I love them already!

Big Tala and small Tala
The faces are done. They have sweet grandma smiles.

Big and small Tala with hair, eyebrows and their walking canes. Now they need clothes.
Aren't they darling?

And last but not least big and small Moana!
They are ready to conquer the world right after they get some clothes.

After I am done with the clothes and accessories we will all go to Punalu'u Black Sand Beach to take pictures, because everybody in this Ohana is an ocean doll.

10" and 4" Moana are invincible and ready for adventure to preserve the higher good of all.

10" and 4" Tala are devoted to the concept of being true to yourself
and listening to your heart.

10" and 4" Maui are true Me’es (heros) who take responsibility for their victories
as well as their defeats!

It took almost a month to finish this project. I fell in love with each and everyone of the Moana Ohana. It was an amazing and deeply fulfilling experience!

Mahalo Nui Loa Moana Ohana!

Ho'oponopono, Forgiveness and Happiness

Mihi and 'Oli'oli
(Forgiveness and Happiness)

“E ALOHA

E aloha kakou

Ho’omau kakou
Malama kakou
Ikaika kakou

DIVINE LOVE

We are loving
We persevere
We are caring
We are strong”

(Maka'ala Yates)

Many people claim Hawaiian Ho’oponopono is one of the most powerful healing techniques. Is this true? What is it all about?
Ho’oponopono is the Hawaiian way of “making things right”. (ho’o-to make, pono-right)It is a powerful Hawaiian ritual which has been used for many years to manifest healing, love, peace, and harmony within ourselves and our relationships.
According to Hawaiian beliefs, we are connected through our aka (cords of energy, also umbilical cord) to each other and everything around us. The relationship to ourselves, nature, and others is like a net. If any part of it is in disharmony the whole net becomes tangled, resulting in frictions and conflicts.
Through Ho’oponopono we are releasing guilt, resentments, or tensions correlated with past behaviors and restoring the net with balance and harmony.
The ancient Hawaiian ceremony of Ho’oponopono is all about forgiveness and forgiving to clear the path in order to ascend to peace and harmony within ourselves. If we take responsibility, all problems can be solved from within. In Ho’oponopono we are forgiving others and ultimately forgiving ourselves.

The ritual of Ho’oponopono always begins with a Hawaiian pule (prayer) of heartfelt love, humbleness and respect for the Divine within and all around us.

Chanting the Ho’oponopono prayer we are not only making things right within ourselves and the people in our current relationships, we are also asking for forgiveness from our ancestors. The power does not lie in the ritual and/or mediator but in our heartfelt intention and sincere desire to correct the wrong.
Communication between ourselves and the divine is of extraordinary importance in the ritual of Ho’oponopono. Words, spoken with heartfelt love, possess tremendous power to manifest positive changes.
Ho’oponopono is a way of letting go and clearing the path. We can balance and resolve internal conflicts within ourselves, our relationships, or our surroundings through Ho’oponopono.
The end result is true healing and enlightenment. With Ho’oponopono we can erase or change unwanted negative energies and thoughts, replacing them with new thoughts which ultimately will bring about peace, harmony, and love. Through Ho'oponopono, the power of forgiveness manifests miraculous results.

38 years ago, I became a firm believer in the tremendous power of Ho’oponopono and have been using it ever since. Here is how I was introduced to this transformational Hawaiian healing ritual: I left Germany and moved to Hawaii with my 4 year old son when I was 27 years old. My mother was devastated that her only child and grandchild had moved so far away from her. Understandably, she was very angry, sad, and depressed and refused to talk to me on the phone or respond to my letters. I love my mother and was extremely upset, because I did not know how to restore our relationship.
I told one of my neighbors, an older Hawaiian man who later became a dear friend of mine, about my problem. He said:” You must use Ho’oponopono with your mother. It will heal and resolve your conflicts.” He then wrote the Ho’oponopono prayer on a piece of paper for me and told me to keep reading it out loud to myself with lots of love and sincerity. I will never forget when he said, that the spoken words of the Ho’oponopono prayer have tremendous power and radiate energy which will restore peace and harmony. At the time, all this was hard to believe, but I did it anyways with the very intense desire to heal the relationship between my mother and me. After about one week of using Ho’oponopono, I received the first letter from my mother which started the resolution of our relationship problems.
I would like to share my Hawaiian friend’s Ho’oponopono prayer with you, hoping that it might lead you to peace and harmony within yourself and your relationships:

Divine (name that which is sacred to you),
If I (fill in your name), and family and ancestors have at any time offended (fill in their name) their family, relatives and ancestors in words, thoughts and deeds from the beginning of our creation to the presence I humbly ask forgiveness for myself, family and ancestors.
Release us from spiritual, mental, physical, financial, and karmic ties from the beginning of our creation to the presence. If others have offended me I forgive them. Pull out of our memory banks and bio computers all unwanted negative energies and blocks we have created and or accumulated.
Cut all the ties that bind us together. Transmute all unwanted negative energies to pure light that divine order, wisdom, and understanding. Peace of mind and balance be made manifest within and through us.
We give thanks in the name of (name that which is sacred to you) and it is done!

I have practiced Ho’oponopono on a regular basis for years now. The effectiveness and outcomes always amaze me. Using Ho’oponopono with the right intention and attitude, never fails to produce the desired results. I often use it without having any specific problems and just address the prayer to the world which leaves me with a feeling of deep inner peace.

The divine powers of Ho’oponopono inspired my creation of Mihi and 'Oli'oli.
Mihi and 'Oli'oli are Ho’oponopono mediators who perform a ritual to restore peace and harmony within their Menehune Ohana (family).

Mihi and ‘Oli’oli, Forgiveness and Happiness
The Power of Ho’oponopono
Birth Date: Mei 22, 2019 (05/22/19)

Open yourself to Mihi’s and ‘Oli’oli’s Mana (spiritual energy)!
They will shower you with blessings and perform a special ritual of Ho’oponopono just for you to manifest love and harmony within yourself and your relationships.

Mihi and ‘Oli’oli are the Menehune’s ambassadors of peace and harmony. Holding hands while standing on a little island shaded by a banana tree, brother and sister perform the sacred, ancient Hawaiian ritual of Ho’oponopono.
Honu (Turtle) wants to take part in the ritual too. She is Mihi’s and ‘Oli’oli’s Aumakua (guardian spirit). In Hawaii the Honu represents long life, safety, peace, and good luck.
Whenever there is trouble and disagreement between members of their Menehune Ohana (family), Mihi and ‘Oli’oli appear to make things right again through the magic of Ho’oponopono.
They begin their ritual with a heartfelt pule (prayer) of love and respect to the Divine, asking for health, balance and harmony to be restored:

E ho'olalelale ka 'ike, 'ike iho nei. E ho'olalelale ka wailua, wailua iho nei
Inspire the knowledge, the knowledge within. Inspire the spirit, the spirit within.

Mihi waves a Ti leaf to clear the way for truth to appear.
‘Oli’oli’s’s Tiki Ihoiho (torch) is the shining heart of love and forgiveness.
Mihi and ‘Oli’oli never fail to restore peace and harmony among their Menehune Ohana. They also never forget to bring a gift of Aloha. Today Mihi carries a sweet Hawaiian Kahiki (pineapple) and Mai’as (bananas) in her basket for everybody to share.
When Mihi and ‘Oli’oli close their ritual of Ho’oponopono all troubles have been resolved and the Menehunes once again wear big smiles of happiness on their faces.

Mihi’s and ‘Oli’oli’s Tutu (grandmother) wove her Mana and Aloha (love) into the green feather and red Lehua blossoms Hakus (head leis). In Hawaii the Hulu (feather) is believed to link to the divine. Lehua, means "Flower sacred to the Gods" in the Hawaiian language.
Tutu sewed Mihi’s dress and ‘Oli’oil's lava-lava (wraparound) out of green cotton with a Lehua flower design. She crocheted green shoes, which she adorned with green crystals. Tutu also wove a traditional Hula skirt for Mihi. Tutu handcrafted 2 necklaces for Mihi and ‘Oli’oli out of Kukui nuts, which represent spirit revealing itself, inner light, hope and renewal.
‘Oli’oli and his Kuku (grandfather) made the Ihoiho (torch) out of bamboo. They fueled it with Kukui Nut oil.
All these things were Kuku’s and Tutu's gifts of Aloha to their beloved Mo’opunas (grandchildren).

MihiMihi and ‘Oli’oli are about 4” tall fitting in the palm of your hand. Their bodies are made from stretch cotton and wired for flexibility. The eyes and mouth are intricately embroidered onto their faces. Mihi and ‘Oli’oli have tiny little hands and feet, ears, buttocks, and a belly button. Honu is partly crocheted and sewn out of faux fur.
All accessories were individually handcrafted.
