Kahiki and 'Olena, the Pineapple Dancers

Kahiki and 'Olena, the Pineapple Dancers

Birth Date: Kekemapa 24, 2021 (12/24/21)

Aloha Mai
I come with love.

Kahiki and 'Olena connect our hearts and actions with Aloha.
Focus on your higher purpose, choose wisely and you will grow,
flourish and blossom in unlimited possibilities!

Kahiki and 'Olena are named after their favorite food the pineapple. As a big surprise, Tutu (grandmother) made them gorgeous pineapple Hula outfit, because Kahiki and 'Olena just love dancing the Hula.

The sacred drumming of the Ipu Heke (gourd drum) echoes across the 'Aina (land) as Kahiki and 'Olena dance and chant with the Akuas (spirits) of the Ohia Forest.
The graceful movements of their hands and bodies tell stories about the wonders of nature, the creation of the world and the traditions of the Hawaiian people.

Kahiki's and 'Olena's Hula attunes us to spirit and gladdens the heart.

Kahiki’s and 'Olena's Tutu is their Kumu Hula (Hula Teacher). She taught them all the powerful movements of the Hula.

Tutu also hand crafted Kahiki’s gorgeous pineapple Hula outfit. She sewed a pineapple pattern double Pa’u Hula skirt with a matching top and crocheted a pineapple headdress.

Tutu also hand crafted ‘Olena’s gorgeous pineapple Hula outfit. She crocheted a yellow top and bikini pants, a pineapple headdress and put a matching belt around ‘Olena’s Ti Leaf skirt.

Tutu handcrafted a necklace, wrist and ankle leis out of Kukui nuts, which represent spirit revealing itself, inner light, hope and renewal.

All these precious things were Tutu’s gifts of Aloha (Love) to her beloved Mo’opuna Wahines (granddaughters).

Kahiki is a 10” tall cloth doll who was individually handcrafted on the Big Island of Hawaii with the greatest love and respect for all that is Hawaii. Her body is made out of doll skin and stuffed with high quality poly fill. The body is wired for flexibility. The eyes and mouth are intricately embroidered onto the face. 'Olena is 4" tall.

Doll care: Gently brush the dolls and their clothing with a soft dry toothbrush to remove dust. Always brush the faces and bodies upwards towards the hair. Do not brush the hair!
