Pono is the motto of Hawaii.
Pono means all thoughts, words and deeds are in complete harmony with divine energy, including our guardianship of the earth. Hawaiian people believe that we are the caretakers of the land during our lifetime. The quality of our guardianship of the land determines its condition. We pass our knowledge on to succeeding generations, so that they too can enjoy and take care of the abundant resources that are gifted to us in our lifetime.
